What Oversight can do
As a result of its oversight of misconduct investigations, the LECC may prepare reports, including:
The LECC may prepare a report relating to the education and prevention of officer misconduct. This report may include relevant comments or recommendations and is to be provided to the Minister and the Commissioner of Police or Crime Commissioner (as relevant).
The LECC may write a report under Section 134 in addition to, or instead of, requesting further investigation or review of a decision on a misconduct investigation. This report may include relevant comments or recommendations and is to be provided to the complainant, the Minister and the Commissioner of Police or Crime Commissioner (as relevant).
The LECC may make a special report to Parliament on any matter arising from the exercise of its functions. Unless a report has been tabled in Parliament only a case summary of the report will appear on the LECC Website.
